Written by Tiny Parham and recorded by Parham-Pickett Apollo Syncopators in 1926 (according to redhotjazz.com). The title obviously alludes to the famous "Alexander's Ragtime Band". Also available at http://www.archive.org/details/Free_20s_Jazz_Collection

"Smiling Skies", recorded by Benny Meroff and His Orchestra on December 9, 1928 in Chicago (OKEH electric). "Wild" Bill Davidson performed trumpet solo in Bix Beiderbecke style - this caused rumors that Bix himself played on this record (Chip Deffaa, "Voices of the Jazz Age: profiles of eight vintage jazzmen")
